The work is in high gear with meetings, calls, research, and more regarding the future plans for the High & Dry marina property. We still have a good way to go. And for all who came out for the photo shoot in that cold late afternoon—a huge thanks from the Steering Committee of NEXT.
Our primary goals remain limiting the marina height to 50 feet and keeping density to a minimum. We are researching ordinances, noise, traffic, and environmental and other impacts. We are in contact with SWFWMD and meeting with County Commissioners.
- Greenleaf may restart the formal review on Feb. 12. We will have more details about the new plan at that time. The public hearing would be in St. Petersburg on April 1. Showing up for this meeting is the most important thing you can do! Multitudes of NEXT members could make all the difference in the final result.
- We need your help with editorial skills, light web site upkeep, and email management. Please let us know if you have these skills and can help out; this is imperative to keep everyone up to date.
- NEXT communications: We need to continue to grow our database in order for everyone to be heard and for everyone to take part. Give your neighbors the email to join: tierraverdenext@gmail.com. Buy a tee shirt and wear it proudly. Become a street captain to make the communication more personal.
Thank you,
Tierra Verde NEXT Steering Committee
