The Marina effort is not the only thing Tierra Verde Next is concerned about. We are building for the future. For example, at our Open House, we presented a plan for renewing Tierra Verde Community Park. In the future, there will be other ideas, concerns and changes that will affect the character and quality of life we all care about. Learn more about the Community Park idea here
As these issues arise, we need to be ready.
NOT FROM THE TOP DOWN—FROM THE NEIGHBORHOOD UP
We need to expand our communication network. We need to be able to say to everyone: “Here is what is happening. These are the facts, and here is how you can participate.” Everyone will decide for themselves how they want to respond, but to do anything, you need to know about it.

But to help us build for the future, we need Captains, block by block, HOA by HOA, who can say: “I can reach my neighbors.” Here is a list of HOAs and streets that do not have captains. If you live in one of these or know someone who does, please sign up to be a captain or ask the person you know.
Our effort is not only about sending information out. It is about bringing information back in. If you have concerns, questions, or ideas, we want to hear them. You can always email questions to TierraVerdeNext@gmail.com, but you ALSO can talk to your street or HOA captain, as neighbors do.
TIERRA VERDE NEXT IS AN ALL-VOLUNTEER ORGANIZATION – WE NEED YOU!
Our strength will always come from the people who live here and care enough to get involved. Here are other ways to help:
Fundraising. Do you have sales experience that would help us to secure donations from area businesses and real estate agents? We need you! Do you have a product or service you can donate for a silent auction to help raise funds? We need those donations. Do you love to plan a party or help at events? We need your help!
Environmental issues and research. If you have the skill to understand environmental impacts and follow regulatory processes, WE NEED YOU. Help us make sure that our community is working from facts and credible information. If you have a legal background to help with letters and research, we need you!
Communication. We especially need people who understand social media. If you know Reddit, TikTok, Facebook, Nextdoor, Instagram, or other social media platforms, we need you to help spread our message.
Leadership: Members of the Tierra Verde Next Steering Committee have been fighting for a year now, with recent success, against the plan for huge boat storage towers. But building for our shared future means we need to build our leadership team. The Steering Committee plans events, organizes our efforts, approves legal actions, and helps determine the future concerns and direction of Tierra Verde Next. If you care about the future of our island, consider joining us.
We need people who are willing to show up and say: “This is my community and I’m willing to help.” Because Tierra Verde is OUR HOME. We—all of us together—want to keep making it better.
